Bill Maher's "Religulous" Blasphemy

Posted by on 10:56 pm in Current Events | 25 comments

This year I have seen more and more news stories that bring scripture to life like never before. Bill Maher, a standup comedian, talk show host, actor, political commentator and agnostic, set out to mock God in his new movie, Religulous. But in so doing, he simply helped validate God’s Word. [ad#cws-blog-body-336×280] 2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for...

Economic Collapse and Bible Prophecy

Economic Collapse and Bible Prophecy

I’ve read the through the book of Revelation several times in my life. It seems like every time I read it there are new “revelations” revealed that fit into current events like pieces in a jigsaw puzzle. So was the case tonight as I read Revelation 18. In light of this week’s economic events and the threat of a total collapse worse that the Great Depression, this prophecy could mean dire consequences for America. Revelation 18:1-2 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and...

Have a Ramadan Coke and a Smile!

Starting September 1, Coca-Cola will introduce a newly designed can featuring the Islamic crest and star as part of a month long celebration of Ramadan. The design will only appear on cans sold in Muslim countries. Since 9-11 it seems like the companies and the media have done everything they can to embrace Islam, while at the same time slamming Christianity and Judaism every chance they get. In the end, this raises an interesting question. Will Coke feature a Christian design with a cross this Christmas, or a Jewish Star of David for...

What Happened to America?

Posted by on 12:04 am in Current Events | 15 comments

Do you realize it has been almost seven years since Islamic terrorists flew hijacked planes into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon? It’s one of those defining moments in time when you’ll always remember where you were and what you were doing when you first heard the news. There have only been a handful of such events in my lifetime (I’m 39)… President Reagan being shot, the space shuttle disasters, both Challenger and Columbia and September 11, 2001, forever designated as 9-11. Do you remember how our nation responded in the days...

The success of your blog could hinge on the thought you put in to these first steps. Let’s start with a little brainstorming session. [ad#cws-blog-right-300×250]Your first assignment is to decide on a topic...

Kids In Mind – Movie Ratings that Actually Work

Posted by on 10:51 pm in Site of the Day | 3 comments

Having four daughters 13 and younger, this is a site I refer to on a regular basis. While not specifically a Christian website, Kids in Mind provides the most detailed movie reviews you’ll find anywhere. But these aren’t your typical “two thumbs up” style of movie reviews.[ad#cws-blog-right-300×250]Each movie is rated on a scale of 0 (none) to 10 (extreme) in three categories, sexual content, violence, and language. A movie with a score of 0.0.0 is as kid friendly as they come, but they’re almost...

Introuction to Blogging – part 2

Blogging has been around since the early days of the web. The term ‘weblog’ was apparently first used in a Usenet group posting on August 6, 1995 to promote the presentation of research papers by G. Raikundalia & M. Rees, lecturers from Bond University in Australia. However, Jorn Barger of RobotWisdom.com was the first to use the term in its’ modern context. Weblog was originally pronounced as ‘web log’ but by 1999 the pronunciation had evolved to ‘we blog’. Eventually the ‘we’ was...

Christian Radio Under Attack By FCC

Posted by on 10:38 am in Current Events | 8 comments

For years, democrats have been trying to reinstate the so called Fairness Doctrine in an effort to silence conservative talk shows on the radio. Now the FCC is considering new regulations that could devastate the Christian radio industry.[ad#cws-blog-right-300×250]If these regulations are adopted Christian radio stations could be forced to turn over portions of their airtime to groups with opposing messages. The first rule change would force radio stations to take programming advice from a local advisory committee representative of the...
