There’s a couple of things to be concerned about when choosing a Christian dating site and one is a doosey…The first concern is the size of the community. A Christian dating site with a small user base is not the place to start your search for a possible spouse. Look for Christian singles sites that are Christian owned and operated. You’ll usually find this information in the ‘About Us’ section. If you don’t see it anywhere on the site that’s a red flag.

While most Christian dating sites have a monthly fee, there are a few free Christian dating sites and sites that offer a free trial.

Free Christian Dating Sites:

Real Christian Singles – A non-denominational Christian singles site that helps single Christians find godly mates. They offer single Christians, including widowed and divorced Christians, with a comfortable online environment to meet other Christian singles. They offer chat rooms, message boards, online games and Bible tools.

Free Trial Christian Dating Sites:

Christian Cafe – Possibly the largest Christian dating site in terms of number of users. Christian Cafe offers a 10 day unrestricted free trial (no credit card required) simply for a profile picture and filling out the short user form.

The Internet is a great resource for Christians. Through the Internet, the Gospel can reach places and people that otherwise would never have had the opportunity, or desire, to hear God’s Word. The Internet can also destroy the testimony of all Christians in the eyes of non-believers when used recklessly.

As email became a common form of communication for the world, email hoaxes became more and more prevalent. Some are rather harmless, but others are misleading, deceptive and even dangerous.

While most of these Internet hoaxes are not related to Christians or Christianity, a small number attempt to make false claims in order to promote the cause of Christ. These emails are naively forwarded by thousands of Christians every day to everyone on their email lists. These Internet hoaxes make grandiose claims that attempt to validate Christian beliefs or further the cause of Christianity.

Think about all of the ramifications of these emails! Does God want His cause promoted through deception? Obviously not. This goes against the very principles of Scripture.

One such Internet hoax gives a detailed account of how Charles Darwin accepted Christ and denounced evolution on his death bed. This story is completely fabricated.  By spending five minutes doing a little research you could find the truth behind Internet hoaxes such as this.  On the other hand, by blindly forwading such an email, you risk losing your credibility and damaging your testimony with every person that reads your email.

But it goes even further than your own credibilty and testimony.  You open all Christians up to ridicule and further close the minds of those that haven’t accepted Christ.  In their eyes, Christians are small minded people who blindly follow a false God.

Do YOU want to reinforce that view of Christians… and our Saviour?  Verify the validity of any email before sending it to your friends. Most Internet hoaxes can be found at Snopes.com.

I’ve been reviewing Christian websites since 1996. For every one hundred Christian sites I visit, I may bookmark one. That’s not to say that the others aren’t good, they just don’t stand out enough to make me want to return on a regular basis. Here’s five Christian sites that did stand out enough to add to my bookmarks.

1. BibleStudyTools.com – CrossWalk recently completed a major overhaul of their Bible study tools and it’s quite impressive. This free online Bible includes most of the features you would find in an expensive Bible software package. You can search and read various translations of the Bible, including the King James, New King James, New American Standard Version, New Living Translation and many more. A daily Bible reading plan can be customized to your liking using any of the available translations. When you need to dig deeper and do a little research you can take advantage of multiple concordances, lexicons, dictionaries, encyclopedias and commentaries.
2. Tangle.com – Formerly GodTube.com, Tangle is the Christian alternative to YouTube.com… and much more. Tangle is a fast growing Christian community with user created groups, photo albums, prayer boards and Bible study tools. Tangle is an excellent way to share your videos and pictures with friends, family or church members without having to worry about the offensive content on YouTube.
3. ChristianTuner.com – This is a directory containing hundreds of Christian radio stations and internet broadcasts arranged by category. Choose from praise and worship, kids music, contemporary Christian, gospel or even talk shows. To listen just click the play button in front of each station listing.
4. ChristianBook.com – This is the only retail site on this list but I had to mention it. Christian Book is an online Christian super store. They carry Christian books (obviously), Christian DVD’s, Christian music and a huge collection of homeschool material. Their prices are so low I often wonder how they’re making a profit. Be sure to take a look at their Bargain section for some really great deals.
5. Praize.com – A popular Christian community which offers a customizable Christian portable, web based Christian email, Christian chat and a Christian instant messenger.

Let’s face it, Pastors have extremely busy schedules and preparing the weekly sermon is sometimes pushed to the side until Saturday night. ZenBe is a free web based email service. When I came across ZenBe I was thinking the same thing you’re probably thinking right now. Who needs another free email service? It’s been done before, and done quite well at that. I’ve been using Gmail since 2004 and have been totally satisfied. At least until I tried ZenBe.

ZenBe is currently in beta testing but you can request an invitation for a free account by going to their website. It took about an hour for the invitation email to arrive. After signing up I was taken to my Inbox and immediately blown away by the aesthetics of the site. ZenBe has a sleek interface that any email user will immediately feel comfortable navigating.

If you are already using AOL, Gmail, Yahoo Mail or MSN you can add your email account to ZenBe and it will import the last 30 days worth of email and import new emails every time you login.

ZenBe offers all of the features you expect with any web based email service such as custom filters, tags, attachments and search. While it’s all in a nice looking, easy to use package, that’s not what makes Zenbe special.

The first extra I noticed was the collapsible side panel on the right which displays tabs for a task list, daily agenda, address book and best of all, a Facebook application which shows friend requests, messages and more.

Larger tabs across the top of your email window offer a full featured calendar, a file storage area that sorts emails with attached files and allows you to upload additional files and finally ZenPages.

ZenPages allow you to pull information together from within your account and other areas of the web like YouTube, Picassa, Flickr and more. You can then share your ZenPages with anyone you like by sending them an invite.

I know you probably already have 10 email accounts and adding another is the last thing you need. But take a look at ZenBe. You can take advantage of everything Zenbe has to offer without ever changing your email.
