The Vatican Police are giving the Pope's butler a nice vacation in the Pope's jailhouse. More intrigue!
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...05-28-10-03-28VATICAN CITY (AP) -- One of the Vatican's biggest scandals in decades widened Monday with the pope's butler - arrested for allegedly having confidential documents in his home - agreeing to cooperate with investigators, his lawyer said Monday.
Paolo Gabriele's pledge to cooperate with Vatican magistrates raises the specter that high-ranking prelates may soon be named in the investigation into leaks of confidential Vatican correspondence that have shed a light on power struggles and intrigue inside the highest levels of the Catholic Church.

This is really interesting to me. I just started reading Tom Horn's book about the last Pope. The highest levels of the chruch is really messed up, and this just adds to what I've been reading. Then there's the things I read and heard from Malachi Martin before they killed him... It's fascinating to watch all the things going on in the world today.

I've listened to Tom Horn and while I like him, there is also a lot of specualtion in some of his presentations. Why do you think that Martin was killed? He wasn't that young when he died. Many years ago, I exchanged snail mail letters with him and he didn't really seem worried that someone was after him. This is really interesting to me. he was writing a sequal to "Windswept House" that named names and set dates, and was hinting things about the third secret of Fatima not be fully disclosed..... Also I acquainted someone who lived with him for nearly 20 years. He wasn't in bad health despite his age. I'd have to have permission to speak further about that. I don't want to violate agreements.I've listened to Tom Horn and while I like him, there is also a lot of specualtion in some of his presentations. Why do you think that Martin was killed? Anyway, it wasn't untill he started that last book that he seemed to sort of resolve himsef to that possibility, but it didn't seem to bother him from the little exposure I had with him. He did speak to Art Bell of that possibility in his last interview with him, and as I remember just left it in Gods hands.

I don't remember reading anything by Martin. Guess I need to get up to speed. Or Horn for that matter.
Another article - Thought this pointed out something interesting:
A citizen of the Vatican - therefore no rights under Italian law. Unless he has dual citizenship.Gabriele is an employee of the Holy See, a citizen and resident of the Vatican city state. He is being held by Vatican police who have accused him of stealing the pope's personal papers in a terrible breach of trust. His lawyers are Italian legal professionals, but they are communicating to the media via the Vatican spokesman — a conflict of interest that the Rev. Federico Lombardi has acknowledged but tried to downplay by saying he was merely offering a service to release information to the media.
Lombardi refers to Gabriele as "Paolo" and has repeatedly expressed sadness for what has happened. At the same time, though, the Vatican undersecretary of state, Archbishop Angelo Becciu, lashed out at what he called an unprecedented, "brutal" attack on the pope that the leaks represent.

Not good when an Archbishop says you brutally attacked the Pope.
If he were a priest he would be judged under canon law, I'm fairly sure about that - they are not very quick to arrest priests or imprision them - I haven't heard about any such imprisonments, even for sexual crimes, but I have to admit to not following these matters very closley.
"The events of recent days about the Curia and my collaborators have brought sadness in my heart," Benedict said at the end of his audience. But he added: "I want to renew my trust in and encouragement of my closest collaborators and all those who every day, with loyalty and a spirit of sacrifice and in silence, help me fulfill my ministry."
Curia is an interesting word, it comes from the Greek word Kurios which means Lord. I think they call them the Princes of the Church.
