Tel Aviv in the crosshairs.
"The entire population of Tel Aviv would be evacuated if unconventional missiles were to strike the city, a Home Front officer told the AFP news agency in an interview.
Colonel Adam Zusman, chief of the Home Front Command in metropolitan Tel Aviv, told the interviewer, "In case of a missile attack on the center of Israel, especially unconventional, the population from Tel Aviv and other cities will be evacuated and relocated in other areas of the country.
"Massive evacuations will take place in case of unconventional attacks and if buildings are destroyed by a missile."
The last time Tel Aviv was hit by missiles was in 1991, when Saddam Hussein hit the city with Scud missiles. Miraculously, no one was killed, although one elderly man died from a heart attack immediately after a strike. In an ironic twist, hundreds of families moved to outlying areas often viewed as more dangerous, including Judea and Samaria, to escape the missile threat.
Missiles struck north of Tel Aviv in the Second Lebanon War in 2006.
If Israel is attacked again in a war, Zusman estimated that “hundreds of missiles will hit Tel Aviv and its nearby cities. As a result of these attacks, there will be . . "

"Iran in recent days sent a series of missile and rocket convoys to the Islamic Jihad terrorist group in the Gaza Strip, a senior Egyptian security official told WND.
The official said the increased weapons flow to Gaza is seen as part of a wider Iranian strategy to prepare for the possibility of a war involving Syria, with particular concern about the prospect of a future Turkish or NATO confrontation with Damascus.
The official said the Egyptian military aided in the attempt to stop some of the Iranian convoys. He said some weapons made it through to Gaza.
The Iranian arming of Islamic Jihad is causing tension between the jihadist group and Gaza’s Hamas rulers.
WND previously reported that according to well-placed sources within Hamas speaking to WND, the jihadist group has been asked by the Egyptian military to stay out of any future confrontation between Israel and Iran.
For the first time in recent years, Hamas, feeling confident from major Muslim Brotherhood gains in the region, is considering distancing itself somewhat from . . ."

"US Gen. Martin Dempsey’s assertion Thursday, Aug. 30 that the US would not be “complicit” in an Israel strike against Iran, together with the drastic reduction in the scale of next month’s joint US-Israeli war game disclosed by TIME, add up to a blunt message from US President Barack Obama to Israel:
You are on your own! See how you manage without special US weapons and US military backup, including a shield against missile counter-attack, if you decide to defy us and go through with a military operation against Iran.
Instead of the 5,000 US troops originally assigned for Austere Challenge 12, the annual joint exercise, the Pentagon will send only 1,200 to 1,500 service members.
The missile interception systems at the core of the joint exercise will be reduced in number and potency: Patriot anti-missiles will come without crews and maybe one instead of two Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships, according to the magazine.
debkafile’s military sources: The Obama administration has put Israel on harsh notice that an attack on Iran to disrupt or delay its nuclear armament will be refused US missile backup - both in the course of the operation and to cover Israel’s back in the event of a counter-strike widening into a general Middle East conflict.
The Netanyahu government will bear full and exclusive responsibility for the consequences of attacking Iran.
Obama, who has repeatedly pledged his commitment to Israeli security, is the first American president to cut Israeli adrift against a. . ."

"Iran could hit U.S. bases in the Middle East in response to any Israeli strike on its nuclear facilities even if American forces played no role in the attack, the leader of Lebanon's Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah said on Monday.
"A decision has been taken to respond and the response will be very great," Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in an interview with the Beirut-based Al Mayadeen television.
"The response will not be just inside the Israeli entity - American bases in the whole region could be Iranian targets," he said, citing information he said was from Iranian officials. "If Israel targets Iran, America bears responsibility."

"Israeli security officials on Saturday tried to downplay the Pentagon's decision to significantly scale back its participation in a joint military exercise with Israel next month, but some government officials said the decision came as a response to the growing tensions between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office and the Obama administration.
"This is the Obama administration's response to the dinner party Netanyahu held in (Mitt) Romney's honor," a senior member of the political-security cabinet told Ynet, while another official said the Pentagon's decision "isn’t boosting deterrence and is not making the Iranians sweat.
"Regardless of the exercise, the relations between Israel and the US have soured," another minister said, while another added cynically that "our relationship has never been better.
"The US elections are in two months, and there is no doubt that President Barack Obama, if he is reelected, will make Netanyahu pay for his. . ."

"Israel might attack Iran by using electromagnetic pulses (EMP) that could cripple the country by shutting down its electronics and sending the Islamic Republic “back to the Stone Age,” The London Sunday Times reported.
EMP causes non-lethal gamma energy to react with the magnetic field and produces a powerful electromagnetic shock wave that can destroy electronic devices, especially those used in Iran’s nuclear plants.
The shock wave would knock out Iran’s power grid and communications systems for transport and financial services, leading to economic collapse.
The “back to the Stone Age” tactic was first proposed in an Arutz Sheva (Israel National News) article in early August by Dr. Joe Tuzara, after another Arutz Sheva oped writer, attorney Mark Langfan described its power in an earlier article.
A former clinical research-physician-general surgeon for Saudi Arabian, Philippine and American healthcare systems, he wrote, “The wild card is in Israel’s hand - with Electronic Magnetic Pulse (EMP) inscribed on it.
If Israel chooses one of its Jericho III missiles to detonate a single EMP warhead at high altitude over north central Iran, there will be with no blast or radiation effects on the ground.”
He explained that one effect of the EMP attack would be that, “Iran’s uranium enrichment centrifuges in Fordo, Natanz and widely scattered elsewhere, would freeze for decades.”
The WorldNetDaily reported three weeks ago, “Israelis have not ruled out a Jericho III missile launch to detonate a single electromagnetic pulse warhead at high altitude over central Iran."
The Sunday Times report quoted Bill Gertz, editor of the Washington Free Beacon, said that the United States expressed . . ."

It would also let their power plant reactors melt down and create a huge problem for everyone..... and they would not have any technology to even slow it down.

The only practical reason I can see for this action by the Israeli government to be publicized is to show the world governments--which are predisposed to favor any non-Israeli government--that Israel is still trying to make peace with Iran by giving advance warning of their next "chess move".
O Lord, please let Israel see and accept that You are their only Shield and Defender in these volatile times.

"As Bashar al-Assad fights for his survival, a new threat to Israel is crystallising across its northern borders.
What began in Syria as a limited but genuine people's uprising against a dictatorship has become contaminated with Saudi-funded foreign mujahideen who are driven, among other things, by an intense hostility toward non-Muslims - and an implacable hatred of Jews and Israel.
In Al Midan, a suburb in southern Damascus, Mateen, a fighter who claimed to have travelled from Afghanistan, shared his ideas for a post-Assad Syria: "We have to a build a society of respect and brotherhood in accordance with the Prophet's commandments," he said in Urdu. "We will treat non-Muslims kindly, but we have a big fight against the Jews ahead of us. We will take that up, God willing."
The threat to Israel comes not only from the large number of foreign jihadists currently amassing in Syria to take on Assad. Riyadh's monarchy is grooming Manaf Tlass as a possible replacement for Assad.
A high-ranking official in the Syrian Arab Army and a once-close friend of Assad's, Tlass was seen as important enough to be smuggled out of Syria by French intelligence. Tlass has now adopted the vocabulary of the "moderate", but his family history should be of concern to Israelis.
Tlass's father, Mustafa, a former Sunni defence minister who wielded tremendous clout under Hafez Assad, is the author of The Matzah of Zion. Complete with a lurid cover depicting ravenous Jews draining the blood from the slit throat of a Christian priest, the book, a collage of discredited old documents, attempts to revive the blood libel.
Tlass's cousin, Abdul Razzak, commands the notorious al-Farouq brigade of the opposition - the same outfit that expelled 80,000 Christians from Homs.
This view of an impending war with Israel was identical - almost word for word - to what. . ."
