    Another passage:

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
    (Eph 4:9-10 KJV)

It says he is the same, whether descending or ascending. That is, his IDENTITY never changed. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day, but just as suddenly as it is correct, another second later and it's wrong again. Yes, Jesus did descend into the pit and He did preach to the spirits there. TUG would have us believe that Jesus was spiritually dead, therefore He was able to descend to hell, then after He was Spiritually resurrected, He was able to do it again. Consistency is the key, and TUG is lacking it in spades.

Yes, His identity never changed. Absolutely true.
    Wanna trip, baby?

I had kinda come to that same conclusion.

That would be illogical because Jesus had yet to complete the work of the cross due to him not being resurrected from the dead to tell the spirits the good news to get them born again.

Also, after Jesus was resurrected..He was raised with His Glorified body therefore allowing him to go where he pleased. Do you recall Jesus walking through walls and just suddenly appearing from no where to his disciples after His resurrection? It is wise to hold your tongue of erroneous comments unless you know what you are talking about.

That's assuming Jesus was preaching good news to the disobedient spirits. When he was put to death in the flesh he was made alive in the spirit and proclaimed the accomplished mission of his sacrificial death to those who rejected the counsel of God in the days of Noah. It was finished when Jesus said it was finished on the cross. The work complete, just like Noah finished the ark and then the judgment came upon the disobedient. Now the proclamation is that they are not only swept away by a flood but now nothing stands in the way of the judgment of God for all eternity.

The only event that has held back the judgment of God is the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Now that he has accomplished that there is the place of refuge in Christ, the ark of God. So there is no 'limbo' - no endless place of holding for the disobedient. The judgment comes quickly upon the unbelieving because the redeemed have the place secure in Christ.

And just like Noah, this is said about Lot:

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

    Another thought:

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
    (Luk 23:43 KJV)

If Jesus was made dead in spirit when he died on the cross he could not have rightly said to the repentant man 'To day you will be with me in paradise.'

The resurrected Jesus preaching the gospel to the spirits in prison to get them born again was the sole purpose of doing it. Salvation was the only purpose. Thanks for the convo. I have no more to add.
