Ex-skeptic convinced AGW is real
Dr. Richard Muller was a climate skeptic who was funded by charitable foundations associated with the Koch brothers to find holes in the idea of global warming and that it has a human cause (i.e. anthropogenic global warming or AGW). The science has led Dr. Muller to conclude that the Earth is warming by the amount claimed by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and that human-generated carbon dioxide is the most likely cause.

I believe climate change is a very real thing. Unfortunately, no one seems to be able to agree on what's causing it. Is it man-made, or is it a naturally occuring phenom, or a combination of both, and what do we do to stop it, slow it down, or adapt to it?

Revelation 16:9
And men were scorched with great heat , and blasphemed the name of God
In the End of Days, things will not get better, they will get hotter.
Titus
I believe climate change is a very real thing
So do I, the question is how much weighting do we give to the various factors and what actually are those factors.

Without a doubt, climate change is occurring. As Titus and Hans have said, though, we have no way of knowing for sure what the cause may be. It could be cyclical; the Earth has undergone extreme climate change several times in the past. The very natural occurrences of volcanic eruptions have done more 'harm' to the ozone than mankind could ever do. Does that mean that we should continue to disregard pollution? Of course not; we are to be good stewards of God's gift to us. But, with that in mind, man cannot destroy God's creation, unless God wills it to happen.

...or allows it to happen. Is it part of His plan? I guess only time will tell.
BTW, welcome back.

If God allows it, it must be His will...
And, thanks. I don't really leave, I just become less active. I still read everything.

God does allow lots of things that are seriously against His will. Anyway, I always thought that this passage was an interesting one.
Revelation 11:18
. . . your wrath has come. The time has come for judging . . . and for destroying those who destroy the earth."
Probably has more of a reference to the destruction caused by armed conflict, but I still think it's interesting.

It is God's will that none should perish, but we know some will. It is not God's will that we commit sin, yet in His mercy, He allows it.

So, it must be His will. Let's not argue semantics; if God allows it, it is His will. Was it His will, that Adam and Eve partook of the apple? Does anything happen that is outside of His will? I doubt that. The thing is, He always has a reason. Perhaps we can't understand that reason, but, His ways are not our ways. Did He allow Pharaoh to keep the Israelites in captivity? Did He harden Pharaoh's heart, to suppress the Israelites? Hmmm... must have been by His will. NOTHING happens, that is not allowed by God.

I'm not arguing semantics.Everything that happens is allowed by God. Not everything that happens is His will. If it was this would be a perfect sinless world. Unless of course you believe that it was God's will that by one man sin would enter into the world and millions would be condemned to hell. I didn't realize you were a calvinist.
