"Four Navy minesweepers will be on their way to the Persian Gulf within weeks as part of an effort to boost American military capability in the region amid rising tensions with Iran, a Navy official says.

It's a dangerous time. The regime in Iran is unpopular at home, running out of resources, and looking for a way out. Supposedly the leadership feels that any compromise could encourage revolt, so they aren't going to budge.
