    Prayer

I posted about this before the site went down....
My doctor said I am need a full knee replacement. His intention was to treat me for the pain until I am ready. Well I am ready. I see him on the 5th of April and will ask him to do it on or around the 11th. I am little apprehensive, so I am asking for prayer. Many I have talked to told me I will feel like a new person. My question is about the initial pain and recovery. Anyway I am ready for a new knee... LOL

I still feel like I am to young for this to be happening. I will be 55 this year. No one in my family have bad knees that I know of. My mother at about age 70 was told she needed to have one of hers replaced but was killed in a car accident before she had it done. She is the only one and I come from a large family.

Continuing to pray for you about this, m'dear. My understanding is that the beginning of the healing process (right after surgery) is very painful. But once the fix is healed and you've done the physical therapy, most people feel wonderful! My SIL was 39 when she had a hip replaced (Rhumatoid arthritis) and around 44 when the second was replaced. She was sooooo glad she did it! Praying that the same may be said for you.

My friend Mary had her knee replaced when she was 55, about three years ago. Initially, the therapy that is required to keep the new knee flexible is not easy. Mary had trouble with it locking up and the exercises she had to do to correct that were "uncomfortable." But, now, three years down the road, she can walk, run, and stand for long hours without the least bit of pain. So you have that to look forward to.

Thank you for your prayers... I saw the surgeon on Wednesday. He ordered an MRI. It is likely I have another problem along with the arthritis. It is possible that the doctor will just go in clean up bones and repair any tendons. Then putting a lubricant in there. This procedure can last up to 10 yrs. The recovery time is a lot shorter. Pray for the doctor to have wisdom.

It is very frustrating for me to be limited by the pain I am in and I don't like taking pain meds. I try to only use them at night to help me sleep.
