Church website plugins for wordpress

Every WordPress installation should be enhanced with certain plugins. But there’s a few plugins designed specifically for enhancing the functionality of church websites. Here’s some of the best church website plugins that I’ve tested and used recently. These plugins will transform your church website in to a valuable tool and resource, not just another internet billboard.

Sermon Browser

This is an easy to use sermon plugin that allows you to upload audio or video sermons, songs, or lectures to your church website. Files can be listed or searched by date, speaker, or topic. MP3 files can be streamed from the website with the built in media player and embed codes and widgets allow you to place Sermon Browser anywhere on your website. Check out the full list of features on the Sermon Browser website.

Connections

best church website plugins - connectionsWant to include a directory of church members on your website? This is an ideal church directory plugin. Connections integrates with your WordPress admin panel and allows you to create listings for groups, individuals, or families. You can also create family connections with individual listings. Each listing includes plenty of fields for just about any information you can imagine. Connections also gives you total control over which fields are set to private, which are viewable by the public, or which can only be viewed by logged in users (church members). The directory display is controlled by templates which offer 100% customization for an attractive online directory. This is the best church website plugin I’ve seen for managing your church directory online.

 Church Admin

As the title implies, this plugin allows you to Manage your church membership with this simple, but powerful church directory plugin. You can edit, edit, and delete church members, add events to a calendar, track attendance, keep records of visitors and follow up visits or calls, and send emails to church members. The ability to contact members is the strength of this church directory plugin. You can send a mass email to the entire church, or just to a certain group, such as parents of preschool children. You can also choose to send a text message to members that have provided a cell phone number, a great way to get the word out of delays or closures due to weather.

 Pray Box

pray box plugin for wordpress“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray…” We are also commanded to pray without ceasing. The Pray Box plugin will encourage the church body to share their prayer requests and to actively pray for others. Users may choose to post a prayer request anonymously or under their username if logged in. The prayer requests are displayed on the website and when someone prays for a posted request they click the “I prayed for you button.” Your church members will be encouraged knowing that others are lifting their prayer requests before God.

I think Connections sounds great. If it’s a great idea for businesses to have a business directory of their contacts, it’s as vital for any community. This list would be very helpful to any church community setting up its online presence.

Where do I find the Email updates widget you have listed. The link takes me to a generic page without any download information. I’ve tried searching within the Add Widgets page in WordPress and still haven’t found it. Do you have the location where I can download this?
Thanks,
